About the Venue
Carriages is based within Cambrian Works off Gobowen Road in Oswestry, Shropshire. The complex is formed within the old Cambrian Railways engineering buildings which were built in 1865, which have been converted into many businesses including a Children’s Funhouse, Antiques Emporium, Doctors Surgery, and offices. The venue is just a stone’s throw away from the heart of the market town; a short walk through Shelf Bank park, close to the old railway lines.
The venue is run by Nikki and Mike Lavin, who were inspired by the history of the building, and have beautifully refurbished the venue with a luxurious feel. The venue is designed specifically to cater for large functions of up to 120 people, being the perfect place to celebrate.
Along with the facility to hire the venue for your own personal use, the daily coffee shop is open to all during the daytimes, serving hot beverages, light lunches, a unique range of afternoon teas along with a licensed bar. Carriages also plays host to various events such as Comedy Nights, Film Screenings, Supper Club, and Seasonal party nights such as Halloween, New Years Eve and Christmas Party celebrations.
